Newsletter: Lose It All

I was driving home this afternoon and heard this song on the radio. I knew it was Beyonce singing (because how can you not recognize her voice right 😉 ?) but I had never heard the song before. The lyrics moved me and I had to stop the car and look up who it was. Yep, that is how crazy I am. And since then…I can’t get it out of my head. It’s a song by Naughty Boy featuring Beyoncé.

And the part that made me look it up goes like this:

I ain’t runnin’, runnin’, runnin’, runnin’
Runnin’, runnin’, runnin’
Ain’t runnin’ from myself no more
I’m ready to face it all
If I lose myself, I lose it all

I love discovering ‘new’ music and even if it is 40 years old, I don’t care. Because music always inspires me. It fuels my creativity. Stories have the same effect on me. I can really get enthusiastic listening to or reading stories. And as a kid I would read the same book like 3 and sometimes 4 times. I am the girl that has read Pride and Prejudice at least 5 times. Yup that is me.

So there’s this talk that I love. It is about the Power of Vulnerability and it is given by Brene Brown. I have seen the talk several times and just love it. I love how she starts and I love how she gives the talk. You just feel so close to her, you know, like you know her. And she stands there on stage so comfortably.

Buffi Duberman has the same effect on me. I have heard her story like a zillion times but she gets me every time. And when we started talking about working together I knew I had to do it because she felt like the type of person I could learn from. But there is a different part of Buffi that I love best and that is how she is such a gentlewoman. A woman’s woman as I like to call it. She has your back. So I get to share her with you… several times in fact. She is one of the speakers at our Personal Branding seminar on November 23rd. As you can see below, I have finally finalized who they are and am so happy that I can announce all of the speakers, it will be a fab seminar again.

Back to Buffi Duberman. Here she discusses her tip on speaking in front of a large crowd. Buffi Duberman knows about presentation skills. And if you can’t make it to our Presenting Comfortably masterclass on the 9th of November, you get to see her in action on the 23rd of November. So you can all have some Buffi lovin’ as we call it ;-).

P.s. This saturday I will be live on BNR radio, if you want to come and be in the audience it’s at Samhoud Places near the Central Station in Amsterdam. Would be great to see some familiar faces in the audience!
