Newsletter: Let’s talk about Sex!

How are you? Hope you are well? Drop me a line if you can, would love to hear from you!

“Let’s talk about sex, baby
Let’s talk about you and me
Let’s talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be
Let’s talk about sex”

So let’s talk about Sex!
I used to love singing that Salt n Pepa song but NO I am not talking about that kind of sex. I am talking about the number of women here in top positions in The Netherlands. The numbers are incredibly low and they really just cannot stay that way. Yesterday we heard Minister Jet Bussemaker FINALLY talk about the possibility of a QUOTA being implemented here. And I could not be happier. We need to impose change since nothing is changing with regards to these numbers. In Norway for instance 40% of all boards of directors of Fortune 500 companies registered at the Stock exchange are female. In the Netherlands that number is just 5%. I mean COME ON ALREADY, it’s 2015!!

Okay, okay I won’t go on about this too much because well…. I just get too passionate about this subject.

So let’s talk about being Fearless
I came across this story that I wanted to share with you. It is the story of the first African Female president: Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the first female President of Liberia. This woman is an amazing succes story. Here you can hear her talk about it in a film and there is also a nice article about the lessons she has learned. One thing she says in this video is: “You will able to see success coming from a very determined effort to make it”. This is soooo true. Without determination you will not get ahead.

I love sharing stories and that is why I am so honored that the founders of Yoni, Wendelien Webly and Mariah Mansfelt Beck, will give a workshop at our final BrandedU personal branding seminar of this year. You can check out a sneak preview of who they are right here:

The ladies will talk to us about what it means to have Fearless Ambition. So if you haven’t got your tickets yet, you can get them here.

So let’s talk again next week
